Fertility Test, Difficulty Conceiving, Infertility Symptoms - Fertility Journey

If you and your partner have been having difficulty conceiving a child, you may want to consider fertility testing. Your age and menstrual cycle pattern will play a part in determining when you should think about fertility testing. Before you start, familiarize yourself with the male-specific and female-specific fertility tests. This will provide you with a good foundation as you move forward on your fertility journey™.

Once you and your partner have completed fertility testing, your healthcare provider will most likely be able to tell you what’s preventing you from conceiving. Unfortunately, in some cases doctors are unable to pinpoint the exact cause of infertility. This is called idiopathic or unexplained infertility, and although the actual cause is not known, there are still several infertility treatment options that may help you conceive.

If you’ve been given an infertility diagnosis, you may feel relieved to finally have answers, but it’s normal to be concerned about what lies ahead. However, identifying the cause of the infertility is often positive. You’ll find that your odds are good – roughly two out of three couples that seek infertility treatment get pregnant.

The information in this section will deal with specific symptoms, diagnosis and treatment options. Educating yourself and your partner and working together with your healthcare provider will help you and your partner stay focused throughout your fertility journey™.
